Loss ripples beyond Greenville cycling community

You may have noticed that here at Carolina Cycling News we tend to emphasize road racing. It’s not entirely on purpose. Neil is just a roadie at heart who loves cyclocross while I’m a cycling fan and recreational/commuter rider. Although we don’t get much chance to ride the trails with mountain bikers, we love opportunities…

In the past this annual fundraiser ride has been held in downtown Greenville and riders were able to tackle the US Pro road race course. More than $200,000 was raised at this…

March is busy month for Carolina bike advocates

Bike Month isn’t until May, but you would swear it was March from all the activities for Carolina bike advocates this month. The League of American Bicyclists’ National Bike Summit was held in Washington, DC last week, March 8-11. The first-ever Bicycle Friendly University designations were announced, recognizing colleges and universities that create exceptional environments…

2010 Interbike

Originally published at CarolinaCyclingNews.com This past week Carolina Cycling News attended the 2010 Interbike trade show. Shortly after our arrival in Las Vegas, we headed to the 2010 Bike Tweetup for a great opportunity to connect with bike folks we usually just see online. There we ran into Chad Andrews (Charlotte, NC) with his Interbike TV film…

Best and most difficult part of my week was figuri Best and most difficult part of my week was figuring out how to rescue this adorable 8-week old that appeared outside our apartment building. She was too scared to let me touch her but she wanted to be friends. My bruised knees attest to how long it took to convince her to go for the food bowl in the carrier. Thanks to many failures, I'm now really good at strategically placing small tastes of canned food along a stick to entice her closer and closer. I had to wait until finally the time her head AND ALL four paws went inside to shut the door without her getting away. Had a rope tied to the door* to shut it from a distance, but the winning move was playfully looking at her through the holes in the carrier so she felt safe enough to enter. After vet visit and her safe arrival at a friend's house, I finally got to hold her and was rewarded with sweetest neck nuzzles. 🥰
* Warning: panicked kitten almost immediately got rope wrapped around her neck so plan for quick removal of rope if you try this!
Found one of my mom's old favorite restaurants now Found one of my mom's old favorite restaurants now located near us. We enjoyed the beef koobideh and dolmas 😋 Loved being seated by the fountain! The wine glasses are almost as big as my mom 😂
